In Loro Parque we count with a couple of these very special animals. Considered one of nature’s great mammals, originally from Africa, the pygmy hippopotamus (Choeropsis liberiensis) is characterized by its small size, measuring between 75 and 83 centimeters high, 150-177 centimeters long and weighting from 180 to 275 kilos. It is estimated that there are less than 3,000 specimens in the wild and it is considered an endangered species. What are you waiting for to discover them in Tenerife?
