Paco en Loro Parque Loro Parque deeply mourns the loss of Paco, our oldest dolphin, who passed away on Sunday, August 31st, at an estimated age of 44 — significantly surpassing the average life expectancy of his species.

Paco arrived from the United States in 1987, when he was around six years old, and from that moment on, he became a cherished member of the Loro Parque family. He leaves behind two offspring, Clara and Ilse, who are still with us.

In recent months, his health had gradually declined, and he remained under the constant and dedicated care of our veterinary team, who ensured that his final days were as calm and comfortable as possible. Yesterday, a necropsy was performed in Gran Canaria by the IUSA team to determine the exact cause of his death.

For nearly four decades, Paco was a true ambassador for dolphins, helping raise awareness among thousands of people about the importance of protecting nature.
